It is lovely to enjoy a hot lunch provided by your solar oven. Food put in the oven by 8 or 9 a.m. is cooked and ready to eat anytime between Noon and 2 p.m.
However, the jammed drive-thru lines at fast-food restaurants attests to how little time working folks have to enjoy a nutritious mid-day meal.
Times DO change, but we can drive that change by the choices we make. As we learn to cook with the sun, it’s surprising how we begin to appreciate the hot, delicious mid-day meal and find a way to provide it for ourselves!
You can cook what you like with the sun. Friends of Solar Cooking on Facebook shows cooking steak, chicken, sausage and pork. But someone we know cooks delicious lasagna. Others cook beans, casseroles and vegetables.
